VooDoo bands are elastic bands that are used to “floss” myofascial tissues in areas of restrictions. This is achieved through compression of myofascial tissues during active or passive movement. The bands are typically wrapped around the treatment area and active or passive range of motion (ROM) is performed for several minutes. The shearing forces created with movement are said to produce the results which are increase mobility of the treatment area.
Treatment outcomes include improved range of motion and mobility, decreased pain with ROM, and increased local blood circulation. This technique is beneficial for anyone experiencing pain and impaired joint biomechanics secondary to tight muscles, fascia, or scar tissue surrounding a joint.
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective manual therapy technique, that involves applying sustained pressure into the myofascial tissue in areas of restrictions, to eliminate pain and restore motion.
